About Woolston Designs & Seismic Welding

As far back as I can recall I have had an inquisitive mind, pulling things apart to see how they work, early on for the most part I didn't manage to reassemble things successfully but that curiosity led me to continue learning how things work. At college I began making board shorts and selling them to mates for pocket money which led to my first trade occupation working as a cutter in a clothing factory on the Gold Coast where I trained and became qualified as a pattern maker and designer. This evolved after a few years to the wardrobe department at the Warner Brothers movie studios where I worked on several TV shows and movies.

Moving back to New Zealand I worked in the Rag trade for a few years and then went for a change of direction and started to create interesting objects.

I crafted knives, armour and chainmail for some time and then began working as an engineer refining my skills as a fitter machinist, fitter welder and fabricator. In 2017 I started Seismic Welding Ltd to offer a certified industrial welding service which is still in operation. I found my creative side was somewhat neglected so have embarked on a new sculptural artistic adventure.
